It’s been a year of big accomplishments for CREW-Miami.
As our 25th anniversary draws to a close, we celebrate the achievements that have made this a stellar year for our members.
In terms of membership, we surpassed the 150-member mark with 17% member growth and 90% retention.
Thanks to the hard work of our board members and support from Miami’s business and real estate community, we also surpassed our sponsorship goal by an impressive 40%.
This year, we re-launched our Fishing Tournament, which was such an enjoyable event for our members and participating sponsors, but also ranked as our most successful fishing tournament ever. This is significant because it allowed us to establish our first CREW-Miami scholarship program for women entering the field of commercial real estate.
Our recently-held Silver Jubilee – Fall Connections was also a successful fall fundraiser, with a record-breaking silent auction and sponsorship that surpassed this year’s goal by almost 25%. Revenues generated from this event benefited The Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade, as well as CREW-Miami’s scholarship program and our general fund.
CREW-Miami’s programs continue to stand out for their educational and networking value, as demonstrated by the fact that this year our luncheons featuring panels of industry leaders averaged 100 attendees each month, and every one of our member-to-member events were sold-out in advance.
We are particularly proud to have secured the CREW Network Convention that will bring more than 1,000 members from across the nation to our city in 2014.
Our organization has also become very active on social media as a result of our 2012 campaign of Embracing Innovation, which has inspired 280 followers on Twitter, 240 Facebook fans and 135 members of our LinkedIn group. We are reaching and engaging existing and prospective members via social media in a more direct way than ever before, instantly sharing industry news, uploading event photos and connecting our members.
It has been a privilege serving as your President and having the opportunity to work with a talented and dedicated board that really has been the engine behind a successful and record-breaking 2012.
As we look ahead to our 26th year and a strengthening local economy, I’m excited to see how CREW-Miami will continue to lead the charge in Miami’s commercial real estate industry under the leadership of incoming president Margaret Nee.
A toast to our successes in 2012 and the many more to come!
